Cayman Brac and Little Cayman

Once you are on the Grand Cayman Islands, then you will want to consider whether to visit the other two islands, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.

Cayman Brac

Cayman Brac is a tiny island and for visitors who are looking for a little peace and quiet, and want to explore the breathtaking views, this is a perfect destination. It is possible not only to view scenery from the lighthouse, but also to wander through enticing caves and even woodlands that are filled with exotic flora and fauna.

With less than 2000 permanent residents on Cayman Brac, it is easy to feel welcome and at home in this community of warm and friendly people. Most visitors take the time to explore diving spots on Cayman Brac and this includes the latest attraction, the wreck of M/V Captain Keith Tibbets. This is a Cuban naval frigate and it was sunk in September 1996. There are also other wrecks that may be viewed off the island.

Little Cayman

The other island, Little Cayman is the least developed of the islands. With less than 200 permanent residents on this island, it is largely uninhabited. With beautiful beaches and untouched tropical wilderness, visitors to this island get a strong sense of Nature’s beauty as it originally was.

On this island as well, diving is a keen attraction. A visit to Bloody Bay Marine Park is a must as it provides a rare opportunity to explore sheer coral walls and colorful coral gardens under the sea. Another interesting feature about Little Cayman is that it has the largest colony of Red Footed Booby, a type of reptile and this is quite a sight to experience.
