Royal Palms and Sea Grape Beach have some advantages and disadvantages. Both places are worth a visit depending on your budget and the activities you want to try

Choosing the right beach in the Cayman Islands is important; a place that has good drinks and a small crowd is generally a good choice. Location is also important; you should pick a beach that has places to sit in the shade or a beach that offers umbrellas. Royal Palms and Sea Grape Beach offer some of these things; however, each beach is unique, so picking the best one really depends on how you want to spend your day.

Royal Palms in the Cayman Islands is a top class beach, but it gets crowded depending on the time of the year. If you want to kick your feet up, read a good book, and listen to the ocean waves, do not visit this beach during spring break. When spring arrives, this beach gets tons of college students and party people who like to play music, dance, and have a good time. This will totally ruin your relaxing quiet day on the beach reading your book. If you want to experience a peaceful day on this beach, try visiting during late summer, but if you like to party during the spring, Royal Palms is a great place to go.

This beach has excellent drinks, but they are quite expensive; a single beer costs $5.99. The food is also pricey, you may find yourself staring at the food while at the vendor stands rather than buying something. If you have the cash to spend, you will enjoy the beach’s food and drinks, so if you plan to party, and then eat and drink afterwards, start saving your money in advance. Besides the expensive food and drinks, the beach does offer free chairs, which is great because you will not have to use towels to sit on the hot sand.

The beach area is beautiful, but there are no areas with shade, so you will need an umbrella, which is not free; it costs $10.00 to rent one. The beach also has rocks and pebbles in a few places so be cautious if you plan to walk around without shoes. Overall, Royal Palms Beach in the Cayman Islands is a nice choice; just save your cash if you plan to buy food or drinks.

Sea Grape Beach is much sandier than Royal Palms, so it is a better choice if you want to walk around shoeless. More sand also makes this an idea place for small kids; more sand means your kids can make more castles. Another great thing about this Cayman Island’s beach is that it offers a few places that provide plenty of shade, so you may not need an umbrella.

There are some negative things about this beach as well, mainly dealing with its size and the available services. Sea Grape Beach is narrow, so if you plan to play a game of football, you will not have a lot of space to run great plays. After playing any kind of sport, you may want something to drink; you can visit the bar, but sometimes the staff makes customers wait 20 minutes for service. Besides these problems, Sea Grape Beach is still worth a visit a least once while you are in the Cayman Islands.

Royal Palms and Sea Grape Beach are nice places to spend your time while you are in the Cayman Islands. Choose Royal Palms if you like crowds, drinks, and food, and pick Sea Grape if you prefer more sand and basic family fun.

Sharks sometimes show up when tourists go snorkeling in the Cayman Islands; however, they are not dangerous. If you respect them, they will not harm you while you are in the water.

Snorkeling in the Cayman Islands is a calming and relaxing experience. Many kinds of fish can be seen while snorkeling, including sharks. Some people choose not to snorkel because they think that a shark might show up and attack them. If you plan to go snorkeling, there is a good chance that you will see a shark underwater.

Sharks are well known in the Cayman Islands; however, the sharks seen while snorkeling do not attack human. Although the sharks are gentle, you must still know how to act when one swims by you. Improper behavior will makes the shark angry, and there is a slight chance that the shark will to bite back. If you want to prepare yourself, you must know how to identify a Cayman Islands shark and how it behaves.

Cayman Islands sharks do not look like the sharks you see in movies such as Jaws; they are a lot smaller. The sharks in the Cayman Islands are called Nurse Sharks, and you will normally see them in shallow water. Nurse sharks are no longer that 15 ft, and they are not aggressive towards humans. If you see one while you are snorkeling, it will swim around the area quite close to you. In fact, the shark will be so close that you can reach out and touch it with your hand. It will not be wise to touch the shark even though it may seem nice.

You also should not panic and swim away as quickly as possible; this may irritate the shark. When a shark is extremely close to you, just give it a few minutes to swim away. One thing that you should never do is try to feed a shark without a trained guide’s approval; the results will not be pleasant.

Nurse sharks are generally gentle; however, it is not wise to feed them underwater. Nurse shark have extremely sharp teeth, and they can easily cut someone’s finger. Someone once went on a snorkeling trip with a trained guide and decided to feed a shark. Before he tried to the feed the shark, he was told not to give the animals any kind of food. The man completely ignored the guide and handed the shark some food anyway.

The man did not throw the food so it can float on the water; the man actually tried to put the food into the shark’s mouth. The shark took the food, but it also bit his finger. The tourist had to get stitches for his injured finger because he did not listen to the guide. This is why no one should attempt to feed a Nurse shark because it is too dangerous. Feeding sharks is not the only way to be injured; you also have to respect the sharks to avoid getting hurt.

Everyone who encounters a shark has to respect them, including kids. Some kids are extremely playful during snorkeling trips, but sharks are not used to that kind of behavior. Kids have to respect the sharks the same way they respect their pets. For example, a dog will attack someone if that person constantly throws objects at it. A shark will act just as a dog does; it will defend itself from kids that use objects to poke it. Sharks should be respected at all times; kids should not irritate a shark while they are snorkeling.

If you plan to go snorkeling, you might encounter a shark while you are swimming. Cayman Islands sharksare not dangerous; however, you must still follow the rules to remain safe

Fishing on shore is not a popular activity in the Cayman Islands, but it is a lot of fun. There are rules that you must follow; however, they will not ruin your fishing trip.

When people visit The Cayman Islands, they always try the most popular activities the most. Going snorkeling and scuba diving is fun; however, some people may want to try something different. Fishing on shore is a unique, peaceful Cayman Islands activity, and no one hardy ever tries it while on vacation. Going fishing from the shore is much cheaper than renting beach equipment, and it is a nice way to spend time with a family member. Waiting for a fish to bite the line is a great time to talk and bond, and there will be more things to talk about when someone catches a big fish. You should consider fishing on the shore while you are in The Cayman Islands.

Getting started is easy, but there are a few rules you have to follow. When you fish from the shore in The Cayman Islands, you do not need a license if you catch and release. You do need a license, however, if you plan to catch some fish and then cook them. Catching and releasing is fun, and it is worth trying if you never have been fishing before. You will get your hand smelly, so you might need some hand wash soap if you plan to fish and then relax on the shore afterwards. Touching the fish is very necessary because the fish will be tired after you catch it. The fish will struggle to get off your line, and this will weaken the fish.

If you let the fish go without shaking it, the fish will float on the water for a while without swimming away. People on the beach will think that you hurt the fish, so make sure you revive it before you throw it back into the ocean. Speaking of tourists on the beach, many of them will give you bad looks because they think that fishing on the shore is wrong. There is nothing wrong with fishing on the beach from the shore. If you throw the fish back after you catch them, you will not get into trouble. If you prefer to fish from the shore in another location besides a beach, you visit Barker Point instead.

Barker’s Point is great fishing spot, but you have to prepare before you go there. The best time to go is in the morning because you have a better chance of catching something. Be sure to stop by the angler shop in Georgetown or the bait shop near Hurley to stock up on the supplies you need. As for the fishing rod, many people like using a foldable rod on their fishing trips. A foldable fishing rod takes up a lot less space, and it is easily to carry to the beach after your are done fishing.

Fish on the shore is a nice way to relax in the Cayman Islands; however, you must always follow the rules. If you fish on shore without a license, you must let the fish go. If you want to keep what you catch, you have to get a license first.
